thunderbird apartments

affordable housing for families and individuals

helping families find safe housing and stability

Thunderbird Apartments provides safe, affordable housing for families and individuals seeking long-term stability. With 75 two-bedroom apartment homes, the community is designed to support households at low-to-moderate income levels. Units are available for those who meet income qualifications, including individuals using housing vouchers, helping ensure more members of the community can secure a place to call home.

Campus amenities include playgrounds, basketball court, outdoor fitness circuit, laundry facilities, gated parking, and secured pedestrian gate. The campus is also located within walking distance of schools, a Boys & Girls Club branch, shopping, and other resources.

On-site childcare is available at the Strong Foundations Early Learning Center, which helps families access affordable quality care for infants and preschool-age children with childcare assistance from the Department of Economic Security and First Things First, or low-cost tuition.

Thunderbird Apartments offers more than housing, it creates a space where families can feel secure and supported. With amenities like playgrounds, outdoor spaces, and convenient access to nearby schools, shopping, and community organizations, residents are connected to the resources they need in their daily lives. This environment fosters a sense of belonging while helping households build a stronger foundation for the future.

Individuals and families interested in Thunderbird Apartments can begin by submitting an application and meeting income eligibility requirements. Housing is available to those who qualify based on income and rental criteria, and vouchers are accepted. Once an application is submitted, prospective residents may be placed on a waitlist depending on availability. A New Leaf’s team works closely with applicants throughout the process to ensure clear communication. To get started, please call the leasing office.

Starr’s Story

Starr was in her mid-sixties when she became homeless, and it came as a shock. Bouncing from shelter to shelter, Starr tried to get back on her feet, but the constant moving and uncertainty made finding a job hard.
