DV Awareness Month 2021
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Thanks to your continued support, A New Leaf is working to provide life-saving services to survivors of domestic violence, helping them to heal and find safety.
Malissa’s Story
Five years ago, Malissa found herself in an extremely abusive situation. Malissa had never witnessed abuse before and thought that it was her fault, so she buckled down and tried to make it work. But after years of physical, mental, and emotional abuse, her partner took her money and left the state, leaving her no place to live.
Arizona Cardinals Donate $25,000 to A New Leaf
A New Leaf received a generous donation of $25,000 from Arizona Cardinals Charities. The funds will benefit A New Leaf’s two domestic violence shelters, Faith House and Autumn House. Every night, more than 200 families sleep in A New Leaf’s shelters....

Camaraderie 2022
A New Leaf celebrated our annual Camaraderie Gala on March 19th, 2022, raising an incredible amount of support for those in need in our community. We are so thankful to everyone that attended and joined us on an such an important night.
Joseph’s Story
When we reach bottom, like I did when I was homeless for a year, getting help makes all the difference. And when that happens, it can change everything. I am so grateful for all that I have been given through the East Valley Men’s Center.
Victoria’s Story
Victoria suffered a serious head injury several years ago that has left her struggling to remember much of her life. While she does not remember much, she does know that this injury was not an accident. Victoria was attacked by her husband during an argument when he hit her in the head with a solid wooden table.
Ivory’s Story
I had been terrified of shelters and considered living in my car to avoid traumatizing my kids more. Honestly, homelessness almost seemed like the better option at that point. But, the fact that I would have a private apartment unit for up to 3 months at A New Leaf made me willing to take a chance and bring my kids.
Juan’s Story
After leaving prison, I knew I needed help to stay off drugs, find work, and provide for my son. I wanted to lead a better life than I had. A New Leaf helped me do exactly that.
Marissa’s Story
I was a mother with one child and another on the way, having walked away from an abusive relationship and I was scared. I felt so alone, at least until I found A New Leaf’s Autumn House. The staff there welcomed me with open arms.
