The Janis Merrill Education Center was dedicated on Wednesday, October 13th, 2021, in honor of Janis Merrill, a community leader, volunteer, and philanthropist who has played a significant role in the history of A New Leaf.

Phoenix Day was founded in 1915 by the Junior Guild of Trinity Cathedral to provide childcare for mothers who entered the workforce to support the war effort during World War I. For over 100 years, Phoenix Day has offered quality early childhood education in south Phoenix to low-income children from 6 weeks to 5 years of age, a critical learning and developmental period.
Phoenix Day joined A New Leaf in 2018. This strategic partnership strengthens Phoenix Day’s mission of delivering top quality education and provides a strong infrastructure for vulnerable children across the Phoenix Metro area.
