A New Leaf’s La Mesita After School and Summer Program is offered exclusively to residents of the La Mesita family homeless shelter and the La Mesita affordable housing complex, providing children with the support they need to succeed academically and socially in a safe environment.

Operating Monday through Friday, 3:00pm to 6:00pm, with extended hours during the summer, the program offers a unique opportunity to learn, grow, and build relationships for children while their parents are working.

Children in the La Mesita After School Program participate in many enrichment field trips: attending sporting events, traveling to museums, and taking a tour of Arizona State University.

Once children graduate from the after school program, La Mesita also offers a teen leadership program to continue engagement and keep them on track. A New Leaf strongly believes that investing in children, and providing them with the tools to be successful, sets them up for brighter futures.
