A Visit of Service and Support

A New Leaf was honored to welcome Representative Greg Stanton and his team to the East Valley Men’s Center for a special day of service. Their visit made a direct and meaningful impact on the men working hard to rebuild their lives. Together, the group prepared 100 sack lunches for residents heading out to job interviews, day labor, or work shifts across the Valley.

They also served a fresh, hot lunch to every resident at the shelter, ensuring that each man felt cared for and supported. The effort not only met a practical need but also carried an important message: the community is rooting for them as they take steps toward stability. “It means so much for our residents to see leaders in their community show up and serve,” said staff at the East Valley Men’s Center. “Moments like these remind them that people believe in their success.”

Community Leadership in Action

The East Valley Men’s Center has served as a place of refuge and hope for men experiencing homelessness for decades. Each year, hundreds of residents find support, shelter, and guidance as they work to secure employment and permanent housing. The involvement of leaders like Representative Stanton highlights how collective action can make that journey a little easier.

By taking the time to prepare meals and share kindness, Representative Stanton and his team demonstrated the power of service. Their compassion and generosity lifted spirits, filled stomachs, and reminded residents that they are not alone in their efforts to move forward. From all of us at A New Leaf, and from every man whose day was made a little brighter, we extend our heartfelt thanks. Partnerships like these strengthen our community and give hope to those who need it most.
