Raising Awareness This Valentine’s Day

On Valentine’s Day 2025, A New Leaf was featured in a special ABC15 news segment highlighting the dangers of domestic violence and the importance of community awareness. While the holiday is often associated with love and celebration, it can also be a difficult time for those living in unsafe relationships. The segment reminded viewers that domestic violence remains a serious and widespread issue, impacting people of all ages, backgrounds, and communities across Arizona.

Nearly one in four women and one in ten men will experience domestic violence in their lifetime. Beyond the immediate physical harm, abuse creates long-lasting emotional, financial, and psychological scars. By shining a light on this issue during Valentine’s Day, the ABC15 coverage helped start crucial conversations about recognizing the signs of abuse and ensuring that survivors know they are not alone.

At A New Leaf, we remain dedicated to the safety and healing of survivors of domestic violence every single day of the year. Through emergency shelters, advocacy services, and supportive programs, we work to provide pathways to safety, stability, and independence for those escaping abuse.

Most importantly, help is always available. Anyone in need of immediate support can call the Maricopa County Domestic Violence Hotline at (480) 890-3039, where trained advocates are ready to listen, provide resources, and help survivors take the next step toward safety. From awareness campaigns to direct services, A New Leaf continues to stand alongside survivors, ensuring that no one has to face domestic violence alone.
